Overview

The University of Bari Aldo Moro, with about 60.000 students, 1500 permanent professors and researchers, 1000 researchers in formation, 1500 units of technician and administrative is one the biggest Italian Universities and the second of South of Italy. The University of Bari Aldo Moro awards academic titles of the 1st and 2nd level at the end of the following study course are Degree, Specialist Degree, Specialization Diplomas, Master of 1st and 2nd levels, Doctorate. The curricula organization of the study courses is based on the credit system. Study courses are grouped into Departments where tenured professors and researchers teach. In our University are activated 24 Departments (23 in Bari and 1 in Taranto) and 1 Faculty/School

Mission Statement

Purposes of the University of Bari Aldo Moro is the increase of science and moral rigor, the improvement of free exercise of civic virtues and their rights and responsibilities, and the achievement of the common well. It`s necessary for the University to regain the excellence and merit in the research and training, and it`s important that it designs new horizons. The scientific and technical research in the University is oriented at bringing up the creative work done regularly to improve the society knowledge. The University of Bari Aldo Moro is articulated with Departments, Interdepartmental Centres and Research Centres in order to organize and manage any research activity. The University being the basic place of every research activity does its best to channel every resource into research activities by instituting specific Doctorates at the Research Interdepartmental Centres. The growth of knowledge from the natural sciences, medical, and economic Faculties has contributed to the enrichment of the social and political structure of Bari, once principally represented by historians, jurists and lawyers, and to the development of innovative town-planning solutions for university offices and the Faculties themselves. Nowadays the University of Bari aldo Moro represents an ideal bridge to the Balkans, the North African coasts, the rest of Europe.
