Overview

University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) founded on 18 May 1970 and first opened its doors to 192 undergraduate students. To date, UKM has produced a total of 163,853 graduates consisting of 133,708 undergraduates, 23,807 master, 2,689 PhD and a total of 2,762 international students from 52 countries are enrolled at the university. Serving UKM are 2,248 academic staff. Currently it showcases 13 faculties, a Graduate School of Business (GSB-UKM) and 13 research institutes. In 2011, UKM was honoured with the prestigious awards which are 2010-2011 Brand Laureate Award and two awards on World Education Summit 2011. UKM has been chosen as one of four research universities in Malaysia in 2006. Its were further consolidated and enhanced with the identification of eight niche areas. To achieve it`s aspiration to become amongst the worlds leading research university by 2018, UKM has put into place a Transformation Program in line with its slogan, Inspiring Futures, Nurturing Possibilities.
